We define adventure swimming as getting out of the pool and into the open water, and having fun doing it! With over 70 percent of the earth’s surface being water, you can imagine that there are countless places to swim, explore, and adventure. However, when the water is dark, seemingly cold, and there’s no black line on the bottom, open water can be daunting for even seasoned pool swimmers. If you give it a chance, you may find that it’s extremely liberating to leave the lane lines, turns, and pace clock behind. Whether you’re training for your first triathlon, open water swim, marathon swim, desire to swim with a group, or prefer fresh water to chlorine swimming pools, we have something for you.
Swim n’ Sip
For this popular adventure swim, we gather and ride together in a van to a local lake where we start our day with yoga to loosen up. Next we discuss the keys to efficient swimming and the methods that you can use to enhance your practice and start swimming more efficiently. Finally we hop back on the van for wine tasting on the way home!
Lake n’ Lunch
Meet fellow swimmers on a van on the way to a local lake. Discuss the keys to efficient swimming and practice the methods that you can incorporate into your practice to start swimming more efficiently. Work up an appetite with a 3/4 mile or 1 1/2 mile swim before lunch by the lake.
