SwimMastery is coming to Boston

We heard you! SwimMastery is coming to the Boston area October 18-20, 2024. Join us for one, two, or all three sessions to start your journey mastering the art of swimming freestyle; the SwimMastery Way.

SwimMastery is an international community with over 60 coach members and hundreds of swimmers worldwide who pursue mastery in the science and art of swimming. We aim to improve our and our swimmers’ relationship with the water by promoting the benefits of whole-body and safe swimming movements.

Using the latest research in body mechanics, physics, and neuroscience, we focus the swimmers’ attention on specific cues that allow the joints to move safely and effectively. As we synchronize connected body parts, we create whole-body movements that allow access to larger muscle groups. SwimMastery minimizes shoulder injury while increasing core strength, balance, greater speed, and efficiency. The SwimMastery Way enables swimmers to sustain their practice throughout their lifetimes.

Our SwimMastery clinics welcome all levels of swimmers whether recreational, competitive, triathletes, open water, or marathon swimmers. Join us for one, two, or all three days! Add video analysis to any day of clinic registration to receive annotated video and personalized analysis from SwimMastery founder, Tracey Baumann (be sure to add this to your cart before you check out)!

Shaping Your Vessel

Friday, October 18, 2024: 9:00am-3:00pm

Ginny Smithers Pool, at the John F. Kennedy School, 5 Cherry St, Somerville, MA

Shape matters. If you are wet noodles in the water, the slightest disturbance will push you around and take you longer to get to the other side. Join us for an intensive workshop to “shape your vessel” through awareness of joint mechanics, balance, core strength and alignment.

Remember your swimsuit and goggles; we’ll be in the water most of the day. Feel free to attend Shaping your Vessel as a stand-alone experience or add Tuning your Vessel and Speed Masterclass for a well-rounded weekend of next-level swimming.

Full day clinic includes lunch, dryland rehearsals that you can practice anytime anywhere as well as plenty of time in the water putting your skills into practice.

Tuning your Vessel

Saturday, October 19, 2024, 9:00am-3:00pm

Ginny Smithers Pool at the John F. Kennedy School, 5 Cherry Street, Somerville MA

Maintaining the shape of your vessel as you transition from one stroke to the next and oxygenate your engine along the way requires fine-tuning. In this 6-hour workshop, you’ll discover new ways to tune in to your body to the water and refine your movements for increased endurance and efficiency, including seamlessly integrating breathing, safe recovery, and proper catch while maintaining a stable vessel.

Remember your swimsuit and goggles; we’ll be in the water most of the day. While you’ll benefit from attending Shaping Your Vessel on Friday, it is not required to start your tune-up.

Full day clinic includes lunch, dryland rehearsals that you can practice anytime anywhere as well as plenty of time in the water putting your skills into practice.

Freestyle Speed!! Masterclass

Sunday, October 20, 2024, 8:00am-2:00pm

Medford High School Pool, 489 Winthrop Street, Medford, MA

What’s the secret to swimming faster? Join us for an exciting, immersive masterclass learning SwimMastery’s principles and practices for increasing speed and endurance.

Swimmers commonly approach speed by churning the water using arms and legs, leaving them exhausted and at high risk of repetitive stress and shoulder injuries. SwimMastery will help you acquire stamina and speed through proper joint mechanics and employing the metrics that matter to maximize efficiency and minimize the chance of injury.

Full day clinic includes lunch, dryland rehearsals that you can practice anytime anywhere, as well as plenty of time in the water putting your skills into practice.
